2021 Safe Return to In-Person Instruction & Continuity Plan

Safe Return Plan

Bellevue Independent Schools is releasing the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction & Continuity Plan for the 2021-2022 school year. This plan outlines how the district will seek to promote the health and safety of students and continue to provide high quality services to students should we experience a resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This plan is based on the most current guidance provided by the Kentucky Department of Education and the Centers For Disease Control as of July 29, 2021.

BISD Safe Return Plan- Fall 2021

  • In-person learning in a healthy environment is our priority.
  • We encourage all eligible persons 12 and up to get the COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and their community.
    • BISD is partnering with Wild Health and Wellcare Kentucky to provide free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to all eligible individuals 12 & up at Ben Flora Gymnasium during our GES Open House and BHS Block Party on Monday, August 16 from 4-8pm (second dose on Saturday, September 11). Click HERE for available time slots and sign up today.
  • Continuation of preventative sanitation strategies (i.e., sanitizing misters, disinfecting high-touch surfaces) throughout all school buildings.
  • In compliance with current CDC guidelines, universal masking is required indoors and on buses, regardless of vaccination status.
    • The District COVID-19 response team came to this decision based on current data from the Centers for Disease Control and area incidence rate trends.
    • Masking, hand washing, and social distancing remain our best defense to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
    • We will continue to monitor local data and recommended guidelines daily, and will make changes to our mask policy when it is deemed appropriate to do so.
  • Staff will attempt to maintain at least 3 feet of physical distance between students in indoor spaces.
  • Preventative health measures will be implemented daily.
    • Daily temperature checks, screenings (when necessary), handwashing, respiratory etiquette, contact tracing, and quarantine and isolation protocols will continue at both schools.
  • When in doubt, stay home and stay safe.
    • Students and staff must stay home when they have signs of infectious illness and refer to their health care provider for testing and care.
    • NOTE: individuals providing proof of vaccination will be exempt from the quarantine process.
  • The District COVID-19 response team will regularly monitor community transmission rates, vaccination coverage, testing, and outbreak occurrences to guide any future decisions on prevention strategies.
    • The Bellevue Dashboard will be posted Tuesday and Friday of each week.
  • Families may still elect for virtual learning for Fall 2021.
    • Please contact your student's school if you would like to know more about our virtual learning offerings for the 2020-2021 school year, or search our NUE Vue webpage for more details. ???????
